I explored new interests through the controversial topics from SDGs from the weekly SOS meeting. Also, I learned to think about problem-solving and synthesize complex ideas by participating in the debates.

It was a great opportunity to learn others' perspectives about social issues. In the conversation, the most important part is listening to other people’s opinions and respecting them. There could be different thoughts and ideas but there are no wrong ideas.

The SOS meeting provides a valuable opportunity to examine and investigate the current status of our sustainable development efforts while seeking solutions for challenges to improve the world with full of progressive thoughts.

In the SOS, participants engage in thoughtful discussions on a wide range of topics, from social justice to technology and the environment. Members of the SOS take turns presenting their arguments, providing evidence to support their claims, and respectfully challenging each other’s viewpoints. Through active listening and constructive feedback, participants hone their critical thinking and communication skills, while also gaining a deeper understanding of complex issues.

Through SOS activities, I had the opportunity to actively engage in sustainable development, share meaningful discussions with fellow members, and participate in various campus events, gaining valuable experiences in contributing to sustainability in diverse ways.

We organized events to promote awareness of sustainable development and raised funds by selling Dalgona. Moreover, the debates allowed us to explore critical global issues and foster meaningful discussions among members. Participating in SOS gave me a valuable opportunity to explore the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) beyond the classroom. By learning about sustainability initiatives and real-world examples, I reflected on goals like environmental conservation and reducing inequality. We also discovered university-led activities, such as Student Farm volunteering and SDG conferences, which helped me connect with like-minded individuals and build a sense of community. Additionally, networking with Penn State alumni and SOS members provided valuable insights to guide my future plans in sustainability.
